The Global Game Jam is an amazing inspiring weekend of quick game development. Armed with a worldwide theme and much vigour, the GGJ challenges teams from all over the world to create a game in 48 hours.
This edition will again be hosted at Zernikepark 10!

Game jam?
Game jams are events where teams or individuals create games in under 48 hours. In the Global Game Jam, you create a (digital or analog) game from scratch, including design, artwork, building and (hopefully) testing, at the same time the whole world does it! The GGJ always spans a weekend from Friday to Sunday afternoon. Game jams revolve around inspiring one another, going crazy with experimental ideas and celebrating how wonderful game development is.
What’s included?
Our jam features 24/7 access; meals from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon; fruit and hot drinks throughout the weekend; and a finale with a range of awards decided by a jury from the industry. We usually have T-shirts and occasionally we throw in a celebratory mug!
What do I need?
Anyone is welcome to join our game jam. Even if you don’t have any experience, most teams will be sympathetic to someone joining as a learning experience. So if you are a curious gamer, or an artist or musician from outside games, please join and be introduced to game development at its best!
Jammers work in teams, but don’t worry: if you don’t have a team yet, you can assemble one on the spot. Feel free to register now, and you can make a team on-site, or if you prefer there is a chance for this in our Discord server.
When ordering, don’t forget that you need to bring your own PC and other equipment; anything you want to eat beyond our meals; and sleeping gear. We also recommend bringing extra power socket strips, just in case.
